Census Bureau: 4.4% of people in Stark County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 374,712 citizens living in Stark County in 2021, 95.6% said they were only one race, while 4.4% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Stark County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 86.6% or 324,684 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 7.3% and totaled 27,440 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Stark County is 0.1% higher than the state average, which stands at 4.3%.
