The Malone University volleyball team welcomed the Ursuline College Arrows to Osborne Hall on Thursday night.
The Pioneers were able to take control of the match early on, and ultimately cruised to a 3-0 win.

Despite a back-and-forth start to the first set, the Pioneers were able to take control of things midway through.
With the score tied at 14-14 Malone ran off the next seven consecutive points to grab a 21-14 lead. That run featured three kills by freshman Gabi Smith.
MU, who totaled 17 kills in the opening set, was eventually able to close out the 25-16 win on a kill from Grace Rosko.
Malone's defense made things difficult for the Arrows in the second set. Ursuline was actually held to a negative hitting percentage (-0.172) with just five kills and ten errors.
It was also another huge run that helped MU take control of set two. Eight straight points, including a pair of kills from Anna Mallette, pushed Malone's lead out to 18-6, and they never looked back en route to a 25-12 set win.
The Pioneers did not let up in the final set, eventually capping off the 3-0 sweep with a 25-19 set win.
DETAILS
As a team Malone totaled a season-high 14 blocks. Gabi Smith led the way with seven, while Kristen Hankins and Ri'Gyn Humes each finished with six.
Anna Mallette posted double-digit kills with 10.
Gabby Pelfrey finished with a team-high 18 assists.
Macy McCauley added 15 digs to her season total of 483.

Malone will play their final home game of the season on Saturday. Senior Day festivities will take place at 12:40 p.m. prior to the start of the 1:00 p.m. match.
