Tuesday night, the Pioneer men took on cross town rival, Walsh University, for the last game of the regular season.
Malone tried to spoil Walsh's chances of a post season, but with a last minute goal by the Cavs they were able to secure a spot with a 1-0 win.

With the final game of the season, and the final game for our seniors, a lot was on the table for this game. If Malone was to come out with a win or a tie, it would knock the Cavs out of playoff contention.
It was a very physical game, with several cards being thrown and 29 total fouls. It was mostly a defensive battle hat went back and forth throughout the game.
Unfortunately, with under two minutes left in the game, Walsh was able to clinch their playoff chances by finding the back of the Malone net after a hard fought battle.
DETAILS
Gavyn Ernst had six saves on the game while Walsh came away with only two.
