Cavs Compete in Findlay; Hugo Goes Low in Final Round

The Walsh University Women's Golf team competed in Findlay at the William Beall Fall Classic. The 54-hole event was hosted at Findlay Country Club. Fast greens and high winds presented tough conditions during the 36-hole day one of competition. The Cavaliers battled hard on day two and fell to a ninth place finish. Sydney Hugo consistently improved play over the 54-holes to finish the best for the Cavs.

FOR THE CAVALIERS: 

  • Freshmen Sydney Hugo, led the Cavaliers for both days of play. Hugo posted opening rounds of 79-74. The freshmen kept momentum moving into day two pacing herself at 2 under par heading into her final two holes. Back to back bogeys led to an even par, 72, final round. Hugo placed eighth place overall.
  • Madison Ardelean was next in line for the Cavs. Keeping things consistent, Ardelean posted rounds of 79-80-79. She placed tied for 33rd overall.
  • Freshmen Emily Liptak, carded opening rounds of 76-80 for the maroon and gold. Struggling to find her grove, Liptak posted a final round of 87.
  • Grace Thompson(81-85-85), Sophia Rosa(83-85-90) and Maddie Owens(94-84-81) all competed for the Cavs. 
The Women take the week off and look forward to heading to Nasville to compete in the Music City Invite to finish out their Fall season.
