Walsh beats Findlay for first time in program history

For the first time in program history, the Walsh University Cavaliers defeated the University of Findlay Oilers. Walsh handed Findlay their first conference loss as they improved to 9-5 overall and 7-1 in the G-MAC.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

  • Walsh jumped to a 2-0 started at Isabella Kelty and Hannah McFeeters each found the back of the net on unassisted goals. 
  • McFeeters led in points as she recorded four goals and four assists
  • Grace Andreski and Melinda Maers followed with a trio of goals each
  • Andreski and McFeeters picked up a team-high four groundballs 
  • Ellen Lawrence and Lindsay Hindman each added a pair of goals
  • Kayltyn Tokar and Isabella Kelty finished the balanced offensive attack with one goal a piece
  • The Cavaliers went on a 5-0 run to start the fourth period, extending their lead 15-9 before Findlay scored with 6:55 remaining in regulation
  • Goalie Kathleen Mendenhall tabbed ten saves on the day
  • The Cavalier defense, led by Tanisha Steele and Halle Kotulock, forced the Oilers to 18 turnovers and only allowed 13-21 clears to be successful
FOR THE OILERS:

  • #18 Liz Zatalava led Findlay in scoring at four goals 
  • Paige Falk and Mackenzie Cole each had two goals on the day
  • Izzy Murphy-Morrow, Olivia Alvarado, and Allie Kasprzyk scored one goal a piece
  • Rachel Bornstein recorded 11 saves
