Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Stark DD) issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.
"Special needs children want to play with their siblings and friends who don’t have those needs... they want to play together," said Foltz, who is also the director of Canton Parks and Recreation.
Our community is better when we live, work and play together.
The city plans to break ground this spring on a new inclusive playground at Dogwood Park.
The playground is part of a $1.75 million remodeling, which includes a new performing arts pavilion and additional parking among other improvements. It's part of a larger park redevelopment plan introduced in late 2017
