Stark County Auditor issued the following announcement on Sept. 18.
Per Ohio law, the auditor is required to notify property owners when the taxable value of a property changes.
Notices for the 2020 tax year were mailed today. The vast majority of these changes fall into one of these categories:
• New improvements were added to the property (e.g. new home, additions)
• Prior existing improvements were removed (e.g. damage, intentional demolition)
• The property was the subject of a valuation appeal and the value changed as a result of the appeal
• The property sold recently, subsequent changes were made to the record as a result of an inspection/review
• A property exemption expired (e.g. 10 year abatement, conversion to new use) on all or part of the property
• The property record was reviewed/audited and changes made caused a shift in value
Please feel free to call our office at (330) 451-7085 if you have any questions regarding the notices. You may also email us at appraisal@starkcountyohio.gov If you disagree with the proposed value for 2020 and wish to present evidence regarding a change in value, please complete an informal review online by downloading an informal appeal application and emailing the completed form along with supportive evidence to appraisal@starkcountyohio.gov
